Betty Jane Altman McCrumb, 72, of 1582 Fisher Road, Portersville, died the afternoon of Aug. 21, 2006, in Good Samaritan Hospice House, Wexford, Pa.
Born June 2, 1934, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Samuel D. and Nancy Stephens Altman.
She married Richard C. McCrumb Sr. on April 4, 1953. He survives.
Betty retired in 2004 after 18 years as secretary-treasurer for Slippery Rock Township.
She was the eighth person to walk down the aisle at graduation in 1952.
Betty was a member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church.
She enjoyed camping and travel.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda S. McCrumb of New Castle; two sons, Richard C. McCrumb Jr. of Portersville and Ronald A. McCrumb of New Castle; four brothers, Robert Atlman of New Castle, Richard Altman of Centennial, Colo., Donald Altman of Grove City and Thomas Altman of Ellwood City; five grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Burial was in Fair Oaks Cemetery.
