Donald R. Campbell, 75, of New Castle, passed away Dec. 3, 2009, at Jameson Hospital.

He was born in East Palestine, Ohio, on Oct. 27, 1934, a son of the late Robert E. and Mabel Spaite Campbell.

Don married the former Evelyn Klingensmith on Dec. 18, 1954. She survives.

He retired from the axle division of Rockwell International. Prior to that, he worked as a union painter and at Veltre Tire.

He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church.

Don enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, water skiing and his dog, Blossom.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sharon L. Campbell of North Versailles, and Denise Lemmon of New Castle; a sister, Nancyjane Houk of New Castle; two grandchildren, Craig Lemmon and his wife, Mindy, and Corey Lemmon; and two great-grandchildren, Anthony Lemmon and Chase Lemmon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister and a son-in-law, Duane L. Lemmon.

Burial was in Graceland Cemetery.

Don was the 67th classmate to walk down the aisle at graduation. After his name in the Yearbook, it reads “Man of the people.” He was in Machine Shop B.
