Joan Carbon Hague, 75, of New Wilmington passed away Nov. 7, 2009, in the Overlook Medical Clinic, New Wilmington.

Born Oct. 24, 1934, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Theresa Yeropoli Carbon Offie.

She married Arthur L. Stewart on July 2, 1955. He lives in Georgia. She subsequently married Kurt Hague. He preceded her in death.

Joan was a self-employed accountant and previously worked for Bell Telephone as an operator. She was a graduate of New Castle High School and Slippery Rock University.

She enjoyed poetry and was known as "The Shadow Poet" online in a poets' group. She enjoyed writing and loved cats. She roller skated and was involved in skating competitions.

Survivors include one daughter, Diane Lynn Stewart of Ebensburg, Pa.

Burial was in Savannah Cemetery.

Joan was the 75th classmate to walk down the aisle at graduation. After her name in the Yearbook, it reads: "Her favorite pasttime is talking." Y-Teens, 11; Concert Choir, 11, 12.
