Floyd "Milt" Cover, 80, of Wilmington Road, New Castle, died Jan. 1, 2014, in Jameson Hospital.


Born Sept. 27, 1933, in New Castle, he was a son of the late Chester C. and Viola Mae Dodds Cover. He is survived by his wife, the former Joan Frickanish, whom he married on June 8, 1974.

 Mr. Cover retired from Flowline in 1995 after 43 years of working as a machine operator. He was an Army veteran, having served during the Korean War.

 Floyd was a member of Shenango Presbyterian Church. He had a great interest in and enjoyed working with model trains, including setting up displays and reading train magazines, especially Rail Pace Magazine. He also enjoyed puzzle-making and building frames for puzzles.

In addition to his wife, Floyd is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Trudy L. Weakley of Sharon, and Sonia J. Benson and husband, C. Thomas, of Volant; one brother, Robert Dale Cover and wife, Monica, of North Little Rock, Ark.; a brother-in-law, Jack Frickanish and wife, Ruth, of Ellwood City; sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Nerti and husband, Phil of Wampum and Joyce Dailey and husband, Richard of Girard, Ohio; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Leta Cover McCoy.

Burial was in Castle View Memorial Gardens. 

Floyd was the 105th classmate to walk down the aisle at graduation.
