James E. Dufford

James E. Dufford, 72, of 905 Cadet St. died at 4 a.m. March 15, 2006, in his home.

Born Oct. 10, 1933, in New Castle, he was a son of the late Jesse C. and Eleanor Kelley Dufford. He married the former Patricia Montgomery on Sept. 1, 1956. She survives.

Jim is the 97th classmate to pass on. He was the 141st member of the class to walk down the aisle at graduation.

After his name in the Yearbook it reads: "Never runs down." Homeroom Representative 10; Shop Football 11-12.

Jim retired from Chemical Lehman as a truck driver. He was also a certified machinist with Penn Engineering and Rockwell International.

An Army veteran of the Korean War, he served with the 308th Engineer Battalion.

He was a member of VFW Post 315, the Teamsters and the Eintracht Singing Society.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking.

Jim attended Independent Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and John Caldararo, and Kathleen and Michael Linz, all of New Castle; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Zelda Dufford of Masury, Ohio, and Kenneth and Jasmin Dufford of Starnberg, Germany; a sister, Geraldine Frohnafel of Mogadore, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jesse C. Dufford Jr.
