FANWOO, N.J - Barbara Edgington Deegan, 84, died Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Center for Hope in Scotch Plains.
Born and raised in New Castle, she had lived in Westfield and resided in Fanwood since 1961.
She graduated from Penn State University and was involved with Chi Omega Sorority while there.
Barbara worked in the garment center in Midtown Manhattan for 15 years, and then worked for RRJ and Chubb Insurance for many years in the claims department.
Barbara loved baking for her family and friends, playing bridge, gardening and cheering for Penn State and New York Giants teams.
Predeceased by her husband, Robert Deegan, in 2017, she is survived by her son, Dan (Lori); her daughter, Robin Musso (Jeff); and her grandchildren, Ryan, Caitlin, Jack, and Kate.
Barbara was the 142nd classmate to walk down the aisle at graduation. After her name in the Yearbook, it reads: Class secretary 12, Student Council 11, Student Council Committee 11-12, Home Room Representative 10, Y-Teens 11-12, Band 10-11, Literary Club 12.
