We learned on Thursday, March 22, that George Fair of Oceanside, California, has passed away.

We sent him an email recently and got this reply:

"Hi Bob:

I am Jean Fair, George's wife.  I'm sorry to tell you that George passed away on November 27th.

He was diagnosed with lung cancer last June - at the time of diagnosis it had already spread to his liver and brain. The only alternatives were radiation and chemo, both of which were done.

The brain tumor disappeared, but apparently came back because that seems to be what finally killed him.

Thankfully he did not suffer for an extended period - he was hospitalized at the beginning of November, came home on the 17th and died here on the 27th.

He had planned to attend the next reunion and I know he'll be missed.  I hope everyone has good memories of him - I certainly do!"

George was the 147th classmate to walk down the aisle at graduation.

After his name in the Yearbook, it reads:

"Has all three V's -- vim, vigor and vitality. Hi-Y 11, Camera Club 10-11, German Club 12, Home Room representative 10-11, Hall Patrol 11-12, Football 11-12, Track 11-12, Basketball 10, Senior Guidance Committee 12, Auditorium Usher 11-12."
