Rosemary Goodrich Ayers, 83, of Ashberry Lane, New Castle, died Nov. 7, 2017, at UPMC Jameson Hospital. 

Born Dec. 30, 1933, in Toledo, Ohio, she was a daughter of James William Goodrich Sr. and Wanda E. Priebe Goodrich. 

She was preceded in death on July 5, 1992, by her husband of 37 years, Robert E. Ayers, whom she married June 11, 1955. 

Rosemary was employed as a security manager for 23 years with Sears Roebuck and Co. 

She was a member of Challenges and liked music and reading. Because of her love for children, Rosemary enjoyed writing children's books and also poetry. 
An active member of First Assembly of God, she sang in the church choir and over a 12-year period she helped with several dinners, was head of the decorating committee, and the Women's Ministries committee. 

She is survived by two daughters, Jane (David E.) Smith of Mechanicsburg, Pa. and Linda (Steven) Rockinson of Westminster, Md.; a brother, James W. Goodrich Jr. of New Castle; four grandchildren, Lindsey Nicole Smith, Jason A. Smith, Michael R. Rockinson and Melissa Lynn Rockinson; two great-grandchildren; and a large extended family. 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jeff and Kim Goodrich for their devoted help and compassion given to Rosemary over the last several years. 

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald, Elmer, Raymond and Norman Goodrich. 

Rosemary was the 184th classmate to walk down the aisle at graduation. After her name in the Yearbook, it reads: Dofobs 11, Vice President 11, Senior Class Representative 12.
