Donald E. Harrison, 82, of New Castle, died September 11, 2016 at his residence. 

Born on July 25, 1934, he was a son of Edward S. and Margaret Magee Harrison. 

He served in the Army from 1955-58. He retired in 1995 after working at Keystone Welding Supply as the general manager for 33 years. 

Donald was a Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason, a past Master (1977) of the Lodge of the Craft #433, a member of Syria Shriners in Pittsburgh and secretary/treasurer of the Lawrence Caravan #15. A former member of Second UP Church, he served as a deacon, elder and Clerk of Session. He also served as an elder at Center Presbyterian Church, where he was a member. 

He is survived by one sister, Beryl Hogue of New Castle. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Richard, Herbert, Robert and Edward Harrison; and one sister, Alberta Shelar. 

Interment was at Carpenter Cemetery in Mercer. 

Donald was the 196th classmate to walk down the aisle at graduation. After his name in the Yearbook, it reads: "Likes to play basketball — good friend to everyone."
