Anthony F. Leitera, 75, of New Castle passed away Nov. 6, 2009, at Jameson Hospital.
He was born in New Castle on Nov. 8, 1933, a son of the late Genaro James and Clementina Palus Leitera.
Anthony was married to the former Irene Natale for 42 years. She died Aug. 26, 2004.
After 30 years of service, he retired from Universal Rundle. He was a veteran of the Army. He enjoyed bingo, watching and playing golf, and was an avid sports fan.
Anthony was a member of St. Vitus Church.
He is survived by three sons, James Leitera and his wife, Susan, of Dallas, and Dr. J. Fred Stoner and his wife, Pam, and Billy Stoner and his wife, Shirley, all of New Castle; two brothers, John T. Leitera and Thomas J. Leitera, both of New Castle; one sister, Francine Kitzko of New Castle; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael D. Leitera and Frank J. Leitera.
Burial was in Parkside Cemetery.
Anthony was the 245th classmate to walk down the aisle at graduation. After his name in the Yearbook, it reads: "Bound to get ahead."
