Mary Ann Perrotta Prekopi, 74, of Old Route 422, New Castle, died Oct. 16, 2009, at Jameson Hospital.
She was born in New Castle on Dec. 23, 1934, the daughter of the late Charles and Antoinette Camuso Perrotta.
She married Joseph Prekopi Sr. on Feb. 29, 1960. He died March 27, 2001.
Mary Ann was retired from Bell Telephone, where she had worked as an operator. She was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Jo Arblaster of New Castle; five sons, Timothy Prekopi, Joseph Prekopi Jr. and Charles Prekopi, all of New Castle, John Prekopi of Texas and Alfred Prekopi of Kansas; two brothers, Charles Perrotta of Charlotte, N.C., and Dennis Perrotta of New Castle; one sister, Frances Hunt of New Castle; and five grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Ann was preceded in death by one brother, Alfred Perrotta.
Burial was in St. Lucy Cemetery.
Mary Ann was the 350th classmate to walk down the aisle at graduation. After her name in the Yearbook, it says, "Flashing brown eyes and a wonderful sense of humor."
