Greetings ’52 classmates
It’s hard to imagine the 55th Reunion is only a year away. So, in order to make this one memorable, the committee decided to show off the $5 million renovation Downtown by holding the Friday night cocktail party at a location apart from the Saturday night dinner and Sunday brunch.
It will be in the Mill Street Grille at the Riverplex -- located in the triangular block of East Washington Street, Mill Street and Water Street (now closed) -- which once included Gerson’s, Winter’s, People’s Drug Store, Neisner's etc., and in the same area where we hung out on Monday nights. The complex includes the restored building that housed the first permanent movie theater operated by the Warner brothers. A Jazz and Blues Bar also is scheduled to be in operation soon.
Then, there is the new New Castle High School to visit, a state-of-the-art building. The committee hopes to make everyone feel welcome again in the place where they all started out.
In the meantime, as you consider making the 2007
trip, we would like to know your interest or
probability of attending the reunion; your suggestions
that will make the occasion more meaningful and
enjoyable; anything we should add or delete from
prior reunion weekends; anything new about you and
your family, or just send along greetings and
remembrances to your classmates.
