From New Castle News

Rosella Delia Clark Cummings, 85, died Aug. 28, 2019, at UPMC Allegheny Hospice, surrounded by her loving family. 

She was born on Jan. 15, 1934, in New Castle to Gabriel and Libby McNeil Clark 

Rosella married Robert L. Cummings in 1952, and to that union were born seven children. 

She was an active member of Ebenezer Church of God in Christ, where she held the honor of Church Mother. She was active in the community as a member of the NAACP, Judge of Elections for the 6th Ward, president of the Sunshine Kensington Club/Paul Laurence Dunbar Reading Circle and a member of the Red Hat Society. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six sisters, Marion Ward, Shirlene Harris, Peggy Clark Attia, Lillian Clark, Bertha Askerneese and Sarah McNeil. 

Surviving are her husband, seven children, Robert II (Jennifer) of Summerville, South Carolina, Marlene (Bruce) Artis of Las Vegas, Darrell (Cindy) of Ellwood City, Barry (Shelly) of Columbus Ohio, Calvin (Cecilia) of Beaver Falls, Troy (Chantelle) of Las Vegas and Joel of Lakeland, Florida; a brother, John (Mary) Clark of Texas; four sisters, Isophene Taylor of New Castle, Dorothy Townsend of Pittsburgh, Gertrude Morton of Washington, D.C., and Gloria Slaughter of Akron, Ohio; 22 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

She will be remembered as an active member of the Beaver Valley District of the Church of God In Christ and a smiling face of Walmart. 

Rosella was the 89th classmate to walk down the aisle at graduation. After her name in the Yearbook, it reads: Choir 11.
