Warren Mooney Sacripant, DDS, 80, of Evans City died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at UPMC Passavant Hospital from complications of pneumonia.

Born July 3, 1934, in New Castle, he was a son of the late Ralph and Josephine Sacripant.

Known affectionately by many as “Doc Sac,” he was Evans City’s hometown dentist for 37 years. Dr. Sacripant retired in 1997. His practice was transferred to his friend and colleague, David Agostoni, DMD.

Dr. Sacripant attended Grove City College, where he met his wife, Beverly Standen Sacripant. After graduation, he attended University of Pittsburgh Dental School. Following graduation, he served in the Navy Dental Corp. at the Marine Corp’s base of Camp Lejeune, N.C. There, his only child, Yvonne Anne Sacripant, was born.

An Evans City resident for 52 years, “Doc Sac” was active in community service through the Lions Club and the Harmony Moose Lodge. From 1962 to 1973, through the Moose’s “Operation Santa Claus,” the Sacripant family and their closest friends restored thousands of “gently used” toys for area families in need. He served as president of the Butler County Dental Society and also served as senior warden for St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, Warrendale, Pa. In addition to his professional career, “Doc Sac” was a renowned handyman. His hobbies revolved around his friends, his fishing and his family. He was known for his spontaneous humor, quick wit and expansive heart.

He is survived by his wife, Beverlyanne (Standen) Sacripant, whom he married in 1958; a daughter, Yvonne (Sacripant) Bland and her husband, Steve, of Nashville, Tenn.; a grandson, Geoffrey Huston Bland, a freshman at University of Pittsburgh; his sister, Elvi Ann (Sacripant) Frisbee and her husband, Jim “Friz,” of Apple Valley, Minn.; his nephew, Jon Frisbee of Eagan, Minn.; and his niece, Anne (Frisbee) Westall and her husband, Ted, of Prior Lake, Minn. The immediate family also includes his foster son, William David Eberle and his wife, Audrey (Farr) Eberle; his grandchildren, David and his wife, Kita, Kate and her husband, David, Audrey Margaret, Charlie and Hannah; his great-granddaughter, Jessica; and his sister-in-law, Shirley (Standen) Kelly and her husband, Ariel “Buzz,” of Mars.
