    Robert G. Shellogg, 77, of 8615 Elmfield St., Canal Fulton, Ohio, died the night of Sept. 11, 2011, in Affinity Medical Center, Massillon, Ohio.
    Born March 23, 1934, in New Castle, he was the son of the late George and Frances Plonka Shellogg.
    He was married to the former Janet E. Karner for 47 years. She survives.
    Bob was Catholic and a former member of St. Camillus Church.
    He worked for Babcock and Wilcox in Akron for 43 years as a civil engineer.
    He was an Army veteran, serving from Dec. 11, 1956, until his honorable discharge on Dec. 10, 1958. He held the rank of specialist 4th class.
    Bob attended Penn State University and Youngstown State University. He graduated from YSU in 1962. He later received his master’s degree from Akron University in 1970.
    He enjoyed painting, woodworking and going to craft shows. He loved making furniture and going to Myrtle Beach with his wife. He really enjoyed the ocean.
    In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Shaffer.
    Burial was to be in SS. Phillip and James Cemetery.
    After his name in the Yearbook it reads:  Student Council 11-12, vice president of Student Council, 12; Football, 10,11,12; Point Award Committee, 11; Hall patrol, 12. He was the 406 classmate to walk down the aisle.

Second Row—Pat O’Brien, Carole Lloyd, Nancy Lumley, Shirley Hill, Lorretta Yaro, Joan Book, Miss Barlett. Third Row—James Lombardo, Bob Melder, Richard Saunders, Kenneth McClymonds, John McKay, Ed Kelly, Joe Frengel. Allen was president, Shellogg vice president, Plonka secretary and Rudolph treasurer.
