Robert Donald Taylor, 83, of Hickory Township died from smoke inhalation caused by a fire in his home on Saturday, April 14, 2018.
Born Oct. 10, 1934, in New Castle, he was a son of Ernest S. and Mary Wilson Taylor.
He was preceded in death on Feb. 22, 2004, by his wife, Mary Anne Thompson Taylor.
He was a plumber with the Plumbers Local 47 until his retirement.
Among his many interests, Bob enjoyed gardening and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
A former member of Faith Country Chapel, he recently attended First Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Jeff R. (Susan) Taylor and Jay L. Taylor of New Castle; a son-in-law, Donald Strobel of New Castle; four grandchildren, Daniel, Bryan, Keonna and Shania Taylor; and a great-granddaughter, Sophia.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jill Ann Strobel; and a brother, Ralph Taylor.
Burial was in Rich Hill Cemetery.
Bob was the 428th classmate to walk down the aisle at graduation.
