Rosemarie Zajac Mielcusny, 81, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in her residence.

She was born January 28, 1935 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Jaroscz) Zajac. Rosemarie married Robert F. Mielcusny in 1954. He died in 1988.

She was of the Roman Catholic faith and attended the former SS. Philip and James Church and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish.

Rosemarie, along with her parents, owned and operated Arlington Market for 18 years. She also worked as an office manager for 25 years for Kmart in New Castle. She was a member of the Polish Falcons Club, Nest 146. She was a classically trained pianist, enjoyed going to the casinos, was a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and embraced technology. She loved 'liking' photos on Facebook, playing candy crush, and texting with emojis. 

Rosemarie is survived by two sons, Michael (Nicole) Mielcusny of New Castle, and Jeffrey (Bebe) Mielcusny of Pittsburgh; one daughter, Alicia (Mark) Bodnar of Tucson, AZ.; one sister, Linda (James) Farris of New Castle; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Tim; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Tom Pitzer; brother, Joseph Zajac; and sister, Patricia Zajac.

Burial was in SS. Philip and James Cemetery.

Rosemarie was the 475th classmate to walk down the aisle at graduation. After her name in the Yearbook, it reads: Y-teens 11-12, Business Efficiency 12, Hall Receptionist 10, Football Usher 12.
